PREVENTATIVE CARE

Well Woman Exams

At Center for Women’s Health, we are happy to provide annual preventative health exams for our patients. The annual well woman exam provides a unique opportunity to identify and prevent illness rather than waiting for disease to happen.

While we have long associated the annual exam with a “pap smear” there are many other risk assessments and screenings that occur.

Annual visits are important for reproductive and well woman care even if individual components are not indicated that particular year. It is a great opportunity to discuss maintaining a healthy lifestyle and minimizing health risks.

Annual Well Woman Exams May Include:

  • Comprehensive medical and family history
The complete medical history is very important to maintaining optimal care. It is very important that patients update their history prior to the yearly exam. Using our patient portal is ideal prior to your visit to expedite your care and provide you with complete care
  • Physical Exam
A physical exam to assess overall health including; Blood Pressure, Weight, Body Mass Index, palpation of abdomen and lymph nodes. Many but not all women will have a pelvic exam and a clinical breast exam.
  • Pap Smear Screening
  • Sexually transmitted infection screening and prevention
  • Immunizations
  • Weight and BMI assessment and recommendations
  • Contraception
